Authorities

For many conservatives, praying for President Obama was a bitter pill. For many liberals, praying for President Trump is a bitter pill.

Each political persuasion—and we are so divided—has their perspective. I hear a lot about right and wrong. I hear very little thoughtful and measured. We listen, not to understand, but to justify ourselves.

End of conversation.

As Believers, disengaging is not what we do. Stridency is unbecoming.

We are to be political. But government is not our confidence.

The Bible says that all governmental authorities are placed by God. It states that we are to pray for those in positions of authority. These mandates guard us against stridency.

We have monumental issues before us. The media stokes anger, controversy, and deception. The divide is stark. This path is not sustainable.

As one whose home is above, engage here. Now. Pray for those in authority.

“Be at peace with all men,” Romans exhorts. Not some. All.

Our marching orders are clear. Anything less is not Christian.
