Shadows

I wrote that God is absent a shadow. You asked what I meant.

James writes that God has no variation or shifting shadow (1:17). He is the same. He is constant.

God has no shadow because He is light and in Him there is no darkness.

His light shines into our lives and our circumstances cast shadows, but these shadows are not fickle like the confusion cast by our enemy. These shadows always offer an indication where God is, where His light is.

Look at the shadow of your circumstance and you know God’s vantage point. Turn and look into the light and there is no shadow in Him. He is always true and He is absent a shadow.

God is either apparent in the shadows of your life or He’s obvious in the light in your life. Either way, God never shifts nor varies.

Here’s a book on the subject.
