Watching the Sparrows
I love watching the bird feeder. First to arrive are the sparrows, but they're soon run off by doves, blue jays, and a squirrel. Have you ever noticed how sparrows eat? As they peck, they twist their heads and scatter seed everywhere. But God created them like that. The mess on the ground is the only way to ensure they'll have food where they can get to it later.
Jesus taught us that God, who diligently looks after the sparrows, is infinitely more concerned with us. In fact, like the sparrow, He has given us every good thing we need to face life each day. He has given us Himself. Even the sparrows and their eccentric ways remind us that God's Word is true. And if His eye is on the sparrow, then you know He's watching over you.
