The Divide

If you close your right eye and look at the Democratic Party platform, you can envision Jesus Christ championing aspects of those political beliefs.

What gives?

Politics is imperfect, governments are not divine. Nations rise and fall as power ebbs and flows. Economies are fickle.

Death is certain.

If your hope is invested in this life, and in the folks manning the helm, then you are likely making stronger and stronger drinks each evening.

If your hope is invested in God’s eternity, if heaven is your home, and you look to Jesus Christ as the executor of you and your estate, then your investment is substantively unaffected by the virus, the plummeting market, and the divide in our land.

Yes, you pay attention, you are proactive. But you live beyond, while engaging daily, and loving without abandon. To do otherwise is not Christian.

Here is Andy Stanley on this subject.
