Black Eyes and Obedience
Once when I was in grade school I got on the wrong side with the class bully. I decided to do the right thing and reason with him. The black eye he gave me took a week to heal.
Trying to do the right thing does not insure that the right thing always happens. And when your best intentions go bust, it is tempting to declare that you have failed. But by God's standard you may be a smashing success! You see, it's not the results of you're efforts that bring glory to God, it's the method you use. If you are walking by faith in obedience to God-trusting Christ-then the results are really left up to Him.
When you walk by faith you may never see the results you're hoping for. But remember your goal; to bring honor to God, and that happens every time you act in obedience to Him... regardless of the results.
