Two Things

When it comes to your Christian life, there are two things you need to know: 1) What happened to you when you became a follower of Jesus Christ, and 2) how to apply—life out—what happened to you when you became a follower of Jesus Christ.

These two essentials are the focus of Lifetime Ministries, my writing, guidance, and leadership.

I receive emails from all over the world. A few report that the ministry of Lifetime—the devotionals, archives, audio, video, and my blogs—has helped them in some fashion. But the message from the vast majority of people who write is that the ministry has transformed them. Over and over, I hear/read: “Thank you for your ministry. I’ll never be the same.”

Feedback like this could be a heady thing—except that the message and ministry invested in Lifetime to share is God’s message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Of course those who encounter the message of Lifetime are transformed. It’s the transformative message of Jesus presented in practical ways.

Sure, Lifetime packages the Gospel in our unique manner. There probably are no two finer communicators than Bill and Anabel. I labor intensively to write well about relevant issues and the application of the Gospel. Over the years, Lifetime has amassed a huge database of archived ministry resources.

But, let’s be clear: Lifetime belongs to God. The message is His. The application is simply the Gospel applied and made relevant.

When you support Lifetime and my blog site with your financial donations, you are partnering with Lifetime and me to advance the Gospel. No matter the resource you access via Lifetime.org and PrestonGillham.com, the Gospel understood and applied is the central message and focus.

It’s tempting to think of Lifetime and me as resources to encourage you and advance your walk with Jesus Christ. And, this is true. But this is only partially true.

In truth, we are partners in ministry. What with my cancellation by Facebook and MailChimp, the diffusion of media across literally millions of platforms, and the compromise of Christian publishing and communications, now more than ever we must work together to relay the message we hold dear.

I encourage you to think of yourself like a shareholder in the ministry of Lifetime and my writings. Yes, you receive a return on your investment of money and prayer and affirmation, but your return grows as you share the ministry with others.
