The Wild Ride of 2020

Getting my game-face on for 2021—or maybe it was just a television interview

Getting my game-face on for 2021—or maybe it was just a television interview

The wild ride of 2020 is three weeks from concluding—at least on the calendar. I have a suspicion that the New Year is going to start where the Old leaves off.

Which jerks me into one reality that is chaotic, confusing, and crazy. The other reality is confident, composed, and caring.

The first reality? You don’t need me to detail this. Step outside and look around.

The second reality?

People who have placed their faith in Jesus Christ live in between—between life on Earth while confined to a physical body and spiritual life inside their spirit. Caught in between is the soul, the aspect of us that thinks, feels, and makes decisions; the personality part of us; the thing that distinguishes us from the other 6,999,999,999 souls on the planet.

So, I pray and trust God in my spirit, put my COVID mask (not a bandana) on my physical self, grieving that my family won’t gather for Christmas, reconciling (sort of) that the family is sharing one Christmas present—a special chicken dinner—since I lost my job, and wondering when we will be able to have the reception for my daughter and newly-minted son-in-law. Later, after my soul has been yanked and yawed for 17 or 18 hours between my noble spirit and my snake-bit body, I sit down on the patio to think a thousand thoughts, while my emotions carrom against my soul’s bumpers, and my self-determination attempts to make a decision regarding all the above.

Ah, the soul. You’re caught in between the physical world, spiritual heaven, and daily life.

The message of the Gospel, transforms how you think, feel, and behave. The message of the Gospel applied renders peace, composure, and courage.

This is the business and ministry of Lifetime Ministries. For forty years, we have guided the journey of life for those caught in between. Secure your soul, you live confidently. Secure your acceptance, you live confidently. Secure your significance, you live confidently.

Confidence.

Millions of people today would pay handsomely for confidence tomorrow.

Lack confidence, you demonstrate insecurity, rejection, and self-doubt. Possess confidence, you are positioned to live, and love, and engage, and do so without reservation. Yes, you remain caught in between, but you are not your own. You belong to God. Your life is in Christ. Your future is in Him.

If your soul is secure, accepted, and significant because you are in Christ, then empowered by this confidence you are free to meet life head-on. Hit me with your best shot, I’m confident because I belong to God, I am not my own. I write about this most weeks.

Over the course of a week, I hear from a lot of people. Once in a while, someone will write and tell me they were helped by the message shared via Lifetime. Far and away, the majority of my mail says, my life is transformed. I’ll never be the same. Thank you, thank you.

Here’s the deal: The Gospel doesn’t help people. The Gospel transforms people. The Gospel applied transforms life. Lifetime Ministries specializes in applying the Gospel. That’s why I receive the mail I receive.

Like I said, on New Year’s Eve we might celebrate the conclusion of 2020, but its successor will be playing from the same sheet of music.

Confidence? Yes, confidence.

I would be honored if you would join Lifetime in delivering the message of Jesus Christ and His Gospel of transformation. Delivering this message, from His soul to yours, is all we do at Lifetime Ministries.
