Tattoos of the Past

I have a friend who lived a wild life before coming to know Christ. Besides the tattoos, he's an entirely different man now. But sometimes he can be overwhelmed with guilt when he's tempted by the things of his past.

Perhaps you're like my friend, or maybe you struggle with issues others think are harmless. Either way, if it's part of your past and it's not pleasing to God, it's what the Bible calls flesh. But in the fifth chapter of Second Corinthians we're told that from now on we recognize no man according to the flesh. Furthermore, if any man is in Christ, he is a new creation!

Knowing this truth of your new identity in Christ is crucial if you are going to effectively deal with the guilt and temptations of your past. Temptation will always be part of this life, but by setting your mind on the truth, you can walk in victory.
