Safety
For the last 48-72 hours the world has convulsed, waiting to see if we plunge into war.
One writer felt the killing of the world’s number one terrorist, Qasem Soleimani, was akin to the 1914 assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand. That bullet launched World War I.
Hyperbole?
Many folks think not.
As of this writing, Iran and the US have backed away from the precipice. The media is spinning. Iran is posturing. The President is tweeting, and bobbing, and weaving.
To varying degrees, we are wondering, “Am I safe?”
And the answer is, “Probably not.”
“But I’m a Christian,” you counter.
And I reply, if you joined Christianity to be comfortable and safe, you joined the wrong club. There is no divine promise that you will be kept either safe or comfortable.
However, many biblical passages declare that you are 100% secure.
Consider history: No government can keep you safe from anything. Consider Scripture: Nothing can separate you from the secure grip of God.
Safe? No. Secure? Absolutely.
