God's Palace
I was reading in God's Love Letter recently where He says David stashed some 375 tons of pure gold, over twice that amount of pure silver, plus mega-jewels, expensive cloth, wood, etc. for his son, Solomon, to use in building a house in which God could dwell among His people.
Solomon hired the world's finest craftspeople to construct it. The record says that the walls and even the ceiling were covered with pure gold! Imagine slipping into this palace for a look on the day before open house. Talk about being dazzled! There's never been anything to match it since, even though William Randolph Hurst (Hurst Castle near San Luis Obispo, CA) and the Rockefellers (The Biltmore in Asheville, NC) apparently had a go at it.
"Well, I don't see what's so edifying about this story." Here it is. God vacated that golden palace, the most glorious, richly appointed structure the world has ever known, so He could move into another house-you! That's right. God, who owns everything; God, who can choose any place to live that He desires; our marvelous, loving, gracious, heavenly Dad, chose to settle down and live in your spirit which is housed in your earthsuit-24 hours a day, seven days a week! How awesome!
The next time a wave of low self-worth washes over you for some reason or other, take a big swig of that medicine. It's guaranteed to cure you.
