Capturing the Moment

My morning routine is to lie around in bed till about 4:00, get up, slip on a T-shirt and shorts, let the dog out and in, get the paper, then settle into my study just off the kitchen. The early morning quietness is conducive to reading, writing, praying, thinking.... But, there's one thing that I always anticipate that soon penetrates the kitchen's darkness. It's an empty glass going "plunk" on the cabinet by the sink. Anabel is up! (She keeps a glass of water bedside.) Then she's going to stroll into my study with a sleepy hug, a kiss and a "g'morning." Wow! What a way to begin our day together.

This morning as it happened for the gazillionth time, God spoke to my heart, "How blessed I am to hear Anabel's precious sound bytes that begin each morning and continue throughout my day." If you, too, are blessed as I am, enjoy those sounds from your spouse today and thank God for another day of such grace.

Millions don't have this opportunity. If this is your experience, you have a Bridegroom who will be just as real to you as you will allow Him to be. Someone asked why John was the only one who rested his head on Jesus' chest. The response was, "Because he was the only one who tried it." Dear friend, a great marriage is God's foreshadowing of our relationship with Him through Jesus Christ-God in an earthsuit. Are you experiencing this?
