Accessing the Full Potential
John's company purchased computers for its employees. He was thrilled by how it simplified the task of writing. But, he didn't realize his computer could accomplish far more than word processing. It could connect him to clients via email, its calendar program could organize his time, its web browser could keep him up to date with the latest trends in his business field, it could even enable him to share files with co-workers in Beijing, and so much more. No doubt his computer helped him, but it could have helped him so much more had he only accessed its full potential.
At conversion, each Christian is installed with all the components that make up the complete salvation package, yet many benefit from only one aspect: forgiveness. What a marvelous gift! By no means should that gift of forgiveness be minimized. But, isn't it just like God to give us even more?! God has also made you a saint, and the Spirit of Christ indwells you to express life through you. It's those gifts (along with forgiveness) that make it possible to live the Christian life the way God intended.
Forgiveness is vital and helps tremendously, but being a Believer could be far more satisfying and victorious had we only accessed its full potential.
