Word of the Year

My train stop

Dictionary.com announced that the most looked-up word of 2019 was “existential:”

Why am I here?

Merriam-Webster identified their most looked-up word was “they:”

Who am I?

Both words telegraph a third question that is pressing:

Do I matter?

Isn’t this the rampant question in society? Women want to know, as do people of color, people without legal affiliation, people displaced, people with gender questions, and of late, white men.

Congratulations are in order! We have established universal insecurity—an existential crisis. Our best thinking and brightest minds got us here.

It’s actually a good situation. Our human genius has led us to a place from which we can’t escape.

Society’s varnish is stripped off. All of us are nakedly exposed. For all our separation, we are reduced to a fundamental, human essential:

Do I matter—am I significant?

At this point, awareness of being the child of God should be front-and-center for you. You have a personal answer and a collective answer to THE question that is imperative for you to live and share.

To review, I recommend Bill’s nonfiction book, “Lifetime Guarantee.” If you prefer fiction, I recommend my book, “No Mercy.” For audio, I suggest searching here. To take action, forward this article. Let’s increase our traction in society!
