Swagger

In January I laid aside the project I was working on and turned to my keyboard to write Swagger, my latest book. The words tumbled out of my head. In candor, I had held the words on reserve for maybe thirty years.

January was the right time to look into my heart and write.

In retrospect, five months after writing I am amazed how pointed, sharp, and relevant Swagger is.

On more than one occasion I’ve wondered what my contribution to society might be as the world spins with pandemic, masks, death, and confusion. Once the last page of Swagger was edited, I realized: This is my contribution.

Swagger is a series of essays about life, thought, and belief. In the lingo of Lifetime Ministries, there are two intersections between this book and the legacy of Lifetime thought.

First, our faith is solid, defensible, and cogent.

Second, if all that Lifetime teaches is true—we truly are as secure as Scripture conveys—then we are obligated to act within a society convulsing with division, duplicity, and rancor. Swagger offers perspective on how, i.e. what it look like to live, think, and act like a Believer who is a new person in Christ.

Now is not the time for nuance. Now is the time for us to truly live, truly love, truly demonstrate the transformation of Jesus Christ.

Swagger demonstrates how to do this.

I would be honored if you would read the book.
