Falling (away) from Grace (Part 5)

Many of our spiritual guides and mentors teach and espouse that the life of the Spirit is wrapped up in understanding more and more about repentance, the end times, hell, healings, gifts, etc. when in reality these are the elementary things of the Word. To repeat the writer of Hebrews 5:11-14), this approach to spirituality is akin to trying to grow strong on nothing but milk.

What we must do as the church—the Body of Christ—is lay a foundation of spirituality as articulated in this passage and many others. But there is more: We must progress. We must grow.

Further, as those maturing in our walk with Christ (5:12), we must minister to one another by facilitating growth—which is the Spirit's desire—and guide people to build their spiritual lives upon the solid food of the Scriptures: the word of righteousness Hebrews speaks about (5:13), i.e. identity in Christ, communication with our Father, bonding with His heart, etc.

In a word, we must be people of grace who lead others—teaching them—to live lives of grace, inspiring them through our lives to engage, enjoy, and bond with the heart of God.

Through understanding the heart of God's grace, people grow to know God. By knowing God their lives are altered profoundly and their soul is anchored in His heart (6:19). By assisting Believers to understand their true identity in Christ, we help them gain perspective as to the spectrum of relationship to their Heavenly Father. As this is grasped and grown into, Believers are inspired to exhibit His life—the life of Christ—more effectively.

One more eGrace in this series and then we will be off to another subject. Until then...
